fromHTML assumes jQuery is available

As stated, the fromHTML function assumes that jQuery is available, making it impossible to use unless jQuery is available.

Yeah, that's correct. Are you suggesting we have to check for it existence or to get rid of it completely?

Get rid of it. As far as I can tell from a quick look it's the only piece directly dependent on it and in an Angular project (for instance one may not want to pull in all of jQuery for that feature alone.
