v1.57.0
What's Changed
Added
SocialImage::FEATURED('@featured') in$social_image_fieldsplaces the
featured image at that position in a post type's chain:
'post' => array( '@featured', 'image' )tries the featured image before the
field. Without the token the featured image stays last, so no existing map
changes.
Changed
- The AIOSEO bridge no longer treats the automatic image sources (
featured,
content, attach, author, auto) as an editor's choice. A post left ondefaultis decided on AIOSEO's global source for posts, as the plugin itself resolves it. AIOSEO's Yoast
importer writes one onto every post, so on a migrated site the bridge stood
aside almost everywhere, andcontenton block content rendered no
og:imageat all. The bridge now keeps the featured image underfeatured
(supplying only where the post has no featured image that resolves, which
includes an assigned ID whose attachment is gone) and supplies the
preview under the other automatic sources, which pick
an arbitrary body image.custom_imageandcustomstill defer, and so does
any source it cannot name. Affects sites that already set$social_image_bridge. - With the bridge on and "Use Data from Facebook Tab" off for a post,
twitter:imagenow takes the resolved Open Graph image instead of a separate
preview. A post whose editor chose the Open Graph image no longer shares a
different picture on X. The Twitter side reads AIOSEO's own global Twitter
source for a post left ondefault, and defers to a source it cannot name,
so an editor's card image is never overwritten. Affects sites that already
set$social_image_bridge.
