pi-commandcode-provider 0.7.2

Changes

  • Fix tool calls on the /alpha/generate fallback with pi 0.86+. pi now passes the system prompt and tool declarations inside transcript system messages, so plans without Provider API access sent no tools and models wrote tool calls as plain text (#108, fixes #109, #110).
  • Keep model catalog warnings off the console, where they corrupted pi's TUI. They remain available through /commandcode-status (#111).
  • Refresh the Command Code CLI catalog to 1.65.0: image input, reasoning, and effort levels for Claude Opus 5.5, GPT-6 Sol and Luna, Step 5 Preview, Grok 4.7, GLM-5.3 FlashX, Space Bunny Alpha, and the MiMo V2.6 models (#106).
  • Add reviewed display pricing for these models and the now paid LongCat 2.0, including the Grok 4.7 launch discount through 2026-09-27 and the long-context rates above 272K tokens for GPT-6 and GPT-5.6 (#106).

I'm looking for another maintainer. See #114.

Contributors

  • @domye — identified the pi 0.86 TranscriptContext change and opened the fix.
  • @pierreraby — reproduced the root cause on pi 0.87.1 and proposed the host-aware resolution.
  • @cwjcharles and @forkyyyyy — diagnosed the generate fallback and validated a local fix.
  • @transtone, @yoruboku, and @azarelga — reported and reproduced the plain-text tool calls.
  • @barisgit — kept catalog warnings off the console.

Validation

  • Reproduced #109/#110 with pi 0.87.1 against a mock API that forces the generate fallback: before the fix the request carried no tools and an empty system prompt; after it, tools and prompt are sent and the tool call runs.
  • New real-pi regression test for the generate fallback fails on 0.7.1 and passes now; full npm test passed with pi 0.87.1 and Oh My Pi 18.3.0, plus typecheck, formatting, and git diff --check.
  • npm audit --audit-level=moderate: zero vulnerabilities. Package dry-run: 30 files, no test artifacts or credentials.
  • All included PRs, release PR #113, and post-merge main CI passed, including Oh My Pi compatibility.
  • Installed pi-commandcode-provider@0.7.2 from the public npm registry into an isolated pi home: model discovery shows the new models with reasoning and image input, and the generate-fallback reproduction sends tools and runs the tool call. The published tarball matches tag v0.7.2 file for file. No live-auth request was made.
