0.32.0 (2026-05-07)

Breaking

  • romm-cli download <rom_id> may now prompt interactively to download available updates/DLC after the base game; use --no-extras to keep the previous skip-extras behavior, or --with-extras/--yes to opt in explicitly.

Added

  • Added support for downloading individual files from multi-file RomM ROMs.
  • Added base game, update, and DLC detection using RomM ROM file metadata.
  • Added romm-cli download extras <rom_id> for downloading extras such as related ROM files, covers, and manuals.
  • Added optional update/DLC prompt after single-ROM downloads.
  • Added TUI extras picker for selecting related files, updates, DLC, covers, and manuals.
  • Added ROM size breakdowns by file category where multi-file metadata is available.
  • Added RomM server version display from the heartbeat endpoint.

Changed

  • Single-ROM downloads now prefer the base game file instead of downloading the full multi-file archive when RomM exposes internal file metadata.
  • Switch-style update and DLC downloads now use organized paths:
    • Base: <roms>/<platform>/<game.nsp>
    • Updates: <roms>/<platform>/updates/<game>/<update.nsp>
    • DLC: <roms>/<platform>/dlc/<game>/<dlc.nsp>
  • Update/DLC downloads now include both internal ROM files and related same-game ROM rows.
  • Download handling now validates existing files by expected size, skipping exact matches and redownloading oversized stale files.
  • --jobs now rejects 0 to avoid stalled download queues.
  • Manual metadata fields are now optional for compatibility with older or partial RomM responses.

Fixed

  • Fixed base game downloads accidentally saving the combined game + update + DLC archive.
  • Fixed update/DLC downloads hitting incorrect or stale RomM file endpoints.
  • Fixed 404 fallback behavior for RomM file-content download routes.
  • Fixed TUI base downloads incorrectly treating any existing file as complete.
