  • AI clients show proper icons. Kimi had a placeholder and Claude Code a blank square. Claude Code now uses the Claude app's icon, and command-line agents such as Codex and Gemini use Terminal's.

  • The Summary and the AI tab show the same icon for each client, whichever you open first.

  • Requires macOS 15 or later.

  • Signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple.

  • Open the disk image and drag AppAlibi to Applications.

Everything stays on your Mac. AppAlibi reads the macOS log and never sends it anywhere.

AppAlibi now keeps a separate record of what AI assistants and coding agents do on your Mac: Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Copilot, Gemini, Kimi, Cursor, Perplexity and a few others.

  • New AI tab. Each client gets a card with what macOS was seen allowing it (screen, input, mouse and keyboard control, Full Disk Access, admin rights) and a timeline of what it used and when. A screen recording that comes with mouse and keyboard control is marked as probable computer use.
  • Apps or command-line tools AppAlibi doesn't know can be added in Settings, under AI Clients.
  • The Permissions tab shows which apps were seen with Full Disk Access or control of the Mac.
  • Two new notifications, off by default: one for AI clients, one for the first time an app gets Full Disk Access. The welcome tour turns on the AI one along with the others.
  • The Summary tab has an AI Clients section.
  • Settings is split into tabs instead of one long page.
  • Switching between history tabs is faster, and each tab keeps its filters.
  • "Keyboard Control" is now "Mouse & Keyboard Control", since that permission covers both.

History recorded before 0.3.0 is copied into the AI tab once. Older records only have daily totals, so those rows are marked approximate.

  • Requires macOS 15 or later.
  • Signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
  • Open the disk image and drag AppAlibi to Applications.

AppAlibi now also records when macOS grants an app administrator rights: admin password prompts, software installs, changes to background services and system settings.

  • New Admin tab in the history window, with the same filters, search and CSV export as the other tabs.
  • New notification in Settings: "Administrator rights", every time an app is allowed to make such a change. Off by default.
  • Grants still in the macOS log are imported the first time 0.2.0 runs.
  • Clear names for more permissions in the Permissions tab (iCloud Drive, Home, Personal Voice, Passkeys and others) instead of internal codes.
  • Polish translation fixes.

Only granted rights are recorded: macOS does not log which app a refused request came from.

  • Requires macOS 15 or later.
  • Signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
  • Open the disk image and drag AppAlibi to Applications.
