Raiun Android 1.3.1
Bug fixes
- Fix sign-in with Authelia where login succeeded but Personal files, Spaces or shared files then failed to load. This also fixes affected accounts already saved on the phone.
- Stop unexplained login-server or proxy errors from unnecessarily clearing saved sign-in credentials. Raiun now distinguishes these failures from a provider explicitly rejecting the saved grant.
- Fix intermittent database-lock errors when preparing an encrypted folder or Space for offline use. Preparation still writes in bounded batches and checks the complete plan before accepting it.
Improvements
- Check login settings and token responses more carefully before sending credentials or replacing a saved session. Refreshes retain the existing refresh token and permissions when the provider omits replacement values.
- Improve login-provider identity checks while keeping compatibility with Authentik and other providers that do not implement the optional browser-response issuer extension.
Install over your existing Raiun app to keep its data. The reporter’s live Authelia deployment has not been retested; automated regressions cover the reported failure. See the authentication guide for the supported profile and remaining security boundaries.
Raiun Android 1.3.0
Features
- Guest invitations: Invite people by email to access a file or folder, and manage their guest access from Raiun. Recipients open the invitation in their browser. This requires guest sharing to be enabled on your OpenCloud server.
- Remember on this phone: Choose to reopen an encrypted folder or Space without repeating its password or biometric prompt, including after restarting Raiun. The unlock key is protected by Android’s secure key storage; your encryption password is not saved. Requires Android 15+ and a secure screen lock. Ask every time remains available.
Improvements
- Encrypted offline access: Save a whole encrypted folder or Space for use without a connection. Once preparation finishes, its encrypted downloads can continue in the background. Files stay encrypted on the phone and are checked before the offline copy becomes available.
- Large collections: Large folders, offline lists and transfer history now load in smaller batches to reduce memory use. Browsing destinations and planning large copy or move operations have also been improved.
- Accounts and settings: Choose an account color from the account menu to help tell your accounts apart. Account details, light/dark accents and Wi-Fi/certificate settings have been cleaned up to make them easier to follow.
Bug fixes
- Sign-in setup: Raiun now correctly reads the server’s Android sign-in settings, including its client ID and additional permissions. Servers that provide these settings can fill in the client ID automatically, reducing the need for manual setup.
- Saving encrypted folders offline: Fixed cases where saving a whole folder failed even though saving individual files worked.
Before updating
Install over your existing Raiun app to keep its data. Keep your encryption password somewhere safe: remembered access only works on this phone and does not replace your recovery password. Older builds cannot read the updated local offline data, so downgrading is not supported.
Raiun Desktop 0.7.4 Beta — Linux and Windows
Raiun Desktop 0.7.4 Beta for Linux and Windows x86_64. The numeric 0.7.4 version remains on the Beta update channel.
Changes
- Fix Windows saved-sign-in reconnection on servers issuing short-lived access tokens.
- Upgrade existing same-user Windows installations in place.
- Bring folder sync and upload-only backup setup into Sync Folders, with one list and one Add flow. Edit direction, All files/Photos/Videos filters and multiple file-type or path-pattern exclusions.
- Add dedicated Offline files and Encrypted files pages, clearer storage information, grouped Settings and less intrusive refreshes.
- Add prominent account colors, color swatches, server avatars where available, Light/Dark/System themes and account rename/removal/restore controls.
Installing and updating
- Windows: download the
-setup.exe. Older withdrawn Windows betas and local preview builds may need this one manual in-place installation. Future compatible releases can use the app's verified Download/Install controls. The updater archive is signed with the dedicated Desktop update key; the standalone installer does not have an Authenticode certificate, so Windows may show an unsigned-app warning. - Linux: use the
.AppImage; glibc 2.39 or newer, system FUSE 3 and a desktop keyring are required for the documented drive and persistent-sign-in functions. - Update checks are automatic or manual; downloading and installation each require an explicit action. Keep the Beta channel selected for numeric
0.xreleases. Android has a separate release and remains at 1.2.0.
Raiun Desktop 0.7.0-beta.3 — Linux (Windows withdrawn)
Windows beta withdrawn — 27 October 2026. Windows installers and updater packages have been removed while the reported sign-in/reconnection failure is investigated. The same failure was reported for a newly added account, not only Default; diagnostics export also failed. Linux downloads and Linux update support remain available. Previous Windows statements below are historical synthetic acceptance, not a claim that this deployment issue is resolved.
Previous release notes
Urgent Linux and Windows x86_64 update, with matching Desktop versions.
- Linux retries saved sign-in when the keyring or network is not ready after startup, preserving refreshed credentials across temporary outages. Sign-out and account changes cancel stale restores.
- Windows correctly shows retained sign-ins as reconnecting and retries temporary failures while the token is still valid. A duplicate Sign in request no longer disconnects the existing drive.
- Sign-in failures refresh the selected account status without affecting a different account.
- Encrypted Spaces accept a display name different from the exact server resource identifier. Folder and child identity checks remain strict.
Beta.2 users can use App updates to explicitly download and install this signed update. Beta.1 users need a manual installer update. Linux requires the documented FUSE/keyring environment; Windows updater signatures do not provide Authenticode for the standalone installer.
This is the final legacy-format bridge release: it adds support for future numeric Beta versions such as 0.7.4 while preserving automatic updates from existing beta.2 clients. Numeric 0.x releases remain Beta, with GitHub prerelease metadata and strict Stable-channel exclusion.
Raiun Android 1.2.0
Raiun Android 1.2.0
- Show a popup when an app update is available, with clearer update settings and release links.
- Improve browsing and backup selection in large folders.
- Add optional local server routing on selected Wi-Fi and Android-managed client certificates for supported server setups.
- Update the scanner and updater libraries, and tidy up settings buttons and language selection.
Install over your existing Raiun app to keep your accounts and files.
The new server connection settings have deployment limits: local routing keeps the public HTTPS hostname, and client certificates do not add OAuth certificate-bound token support. Real Wi-Fi/server and browser/identity-provider/KeyChain acceptance is still pending. See server connections, known limitations and testing.
Raiun Desktop 0.7.0-beta.2 — Linux (Windows withdrawn)
Windows beta withdrawn — 27 October 2026. Windows installers and updater packages have been removed while the reported sign-in/reconnection failure is investigated. The same failure was reported for a newly added account, not only Default; diagnostics export also failed. Linux downloads and Linux update support remain available. Previous Windows statements below are historical synthetic acceptance, not a claim that this deployment issue is resolved.

Raiun Android 1.0.0
Raiun Android 1.0.0 is the first stable Android release.
Highlights
- Personal files and Spaces, encrypted folders/Spaces, offline access, folder and camera backups, and document scanning.
- Transfers with direction, file-type, status and date filters.
- Customizable bottom navigation with drag-and-drop ordering, plus consistent encrypted-browser actions.
- Improved encrypted uploads/offline downloads, backup recovery and large-folder processing.
- Fixed a cancellation race during cross-location transfers; cancelled or failed copies preserve their sources and report the original failure.
- Additional translations, including French, Spanish, European Portuguese and Japanese; Android 1.0 uses version code 47.
Install or update
Download raiun-android-1.0.0.apk below and install it over your existing Raiun app. The original app.raiun.cloud identity and production signing certificate are preserved. Do not uninstall first if you want to retain your accounts and settings. SHA256SUMS is included.
Limits
Encrypted filename search, including offline encrypted search, is not implemented. Ordinary offline search covers cached names/paths, not document contents. Live collaborative office editing is not provided by ordinary sync or an external-app “Open with” action. External editors, camera hardware, biometric behavior and server configurations can vary; keep independent backups.
Combined repository
Android is under apps/android; Desktop is under apps/desktop; shared branding and product docs remain at the root. Their versions and release pages are independent. This Android release is stable; the accompanying Linux Desktop release is a prerelease.
Raiun is an independent OpenCloud client, not an official OpenCloud GmbH release. Source and notices are included in this repository under AGPL-3.0-only; third-party components retain their own licenses.
Raiun Desktop 0.7.0 beta 1 — Linux
First public Raiun Desktop 0.7.0-beta.1 for Linux x86_64.
Included
- An OpenCloud drive per account, with Personal and Spaces, on-demand files and guarded save-back.
- Folder sync, exclusions, pause/resume and per-Space controls.
- Offline caching, preserved local edits/conflicts, and recovery controls.
- Explicit encrypted-location unlock/lock and supported file operations; optional remembered unlock requires per-vault opt-in.
- Tray/status/transfers, startup settings and upload-only media-job setup/Preview.
Install
Download raiun-desktop-0.7.0-beta.1-linux-x86_64.tar.gz, extract it, and run install.sh as your normal user. GTK 3, WebKitGTK 4.1, Ayatana AppIndicator, FUSE 3, Zenity and Secret Service tools are system dependencies. Persistent credentials need an available, unlocked desktop keyring. For the AppImage alternative, see below. SHA256SUMS, privacy and dependency notices are included.
Beta limitations
- Native account switching/file-manager workflows and disconnect Cancel/OK have not completed end-to-end verification testing but should work.
- Full advanced encrypted/offline behavior is not certified. It works but I still have some more testing to complete like cross-vault moves and remote encrypted-folder deletion are unsupported or restricted.
- Cloud encryption is not local disk encryption: local working/recovery/exported copies can contain plaintext. Keep independent backups and don't forget your encrypted pass phrases.
This is an early beta, not a claim of complete feature certification. Windows and macOS packages are not offered yet but worries will be coming.
Combined repository
Desktop source, build scripts and notices are under apps/desktop; Android is independently versioned under apps/android. Original development history and older Android releases are preserved. This release does not enable automatic updating from a generic GitHub “latest” endpoint yet. Once I finish up the desktop builds and more comfortable with their state I'll work on combined releases and better versioning downloads and updates.
AppImage download
An additional raiun-desktop-0.7.0-beta.1-linux-x86_64.AppImage is available alongside the original tarball. Make it executable and run it:
chmod +x raiun-desktop-0.7.0-beta.1-linux-x86_64.AppImage
./raiun-desktop-0.7.0-beta.1-linux-x86_64.AppImageThe AppImage targets Ubuntu 24.04-era systems (glibc 2.39 or newer) and bundles the Desktop interface, agent and runtime libraries. Cloud-drive mounting still requires system FUSE 3/fusermount3, and persistent sign-in requires a working desktop keyring. See AppImage setup for startup, desktop integration and extract-and-run fallback.
This companion packaging revision includes AppImage-specific start-at-login handling. Its exact source is a0d408f, also available as a source archive. AppImage-build-provenance.json records the build and executable hashes; native dependency notices are included inside the image. The existing tarball and release tag are unchanged. Verify either download against the attached SHA256SUMS.
Raiun 0.9.3 beta
A quick fix for uploads getting stuck on “Verifying transfer” even though the files were missing on the server.
Retrying now safely uploads the missing files. If you have stuck or failed uploads, open Uploads and use Retry eligible uploads if needed. This fix has been tested with the affected photo backup.
Install over your current version to keep your accounts and settings. Still a beta, so please let me know if you find any issues.
Download the APK below. SHA256SUMS is included to check the download.
