Fixes

  • Shell/bash fenced code blocks no longer flood wp-content/debug.log with preg_match(): Compilation failed: lookbehind assertion is not fixed length warnings. The shellscript grammar's meta.statement.shell pattern uses a variable-length lookbehind that PCRE2 rejects — this landed as phiki/phiki#137.

Improvements

  • Bumped torchlight/engine to ^1.0, which pulls phiki/phiki from 1.1.6 to 2.2.0. Phiki 2.x tokenizes TextMate grammars with Oniguruma (mb_ereg_search_pos) instead of PCRE, removing the variable-length-lookbehind restriction at the root.
  • Markdown and djot fenced code blocks are tokenized again. The shouldUsePlainCodeFallback() workaround routed those languages through plain <pre><code> solely to dodge the old PCRE issue and is no longer needed.
