PHP 8.6 Support

  • Session handlers: Support session.use_strict_mode, which is enabled by default since PHP 8.6
    • SessionHandlerAdapter implements SessionIdInterface and SessionUpdateTimestampHandlerInterface (PHP 8.6 deprecates session handlers without create_sid(), validateId() and updateTimestamp())
    • CacheSession::destroy() and DatabaseSession::destroy() succeed for sessions that were never written, as with PHP's files handler
  • CI: Add PHP 8.6 to the test matrix as an allowed failure until it is released, and update GitHub Actions to the latest major versions
