Google Drive Binding 0.4.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 28 Oct 01:51

Safer backup detection. Requires openHAB 5.0 or later. Thanks to the forum suggestion!

New: completed-archive check

  • An unchanged file size for stableSeconds can also mean that the backup script stalled, not that it finished.
  • Before every upload (automatic and manual) the binding now opens the ZIP file and reads every entry with its CRC. A half-written or damaged archive is not uploaded; the binding keeps waiting.
  • If a backup is still incomplete after 10 minutes, a warning is written to the log and to the Last Error channel.
  • Because incomplete archives are never uploaded, they can no longer push a good older backup out of Google Drive during cleanup.

Update from 0.3.0

Delete org.openhab.binding.googledrive-0.3.0.jar from the addons folder and copy org.openhab.binding.googledrive-0.4.0.jar. Things, items and the Google login are kept.

Google Drive Binding 0.3.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 26 Oct 00:52

Local backup cleanup. Requires openHAB 5.0 or later.

New

  • Backups to Keep on Server (localRetentionCount): only the newest N backups stay in the local backup folder, older ones are deleted after each upload and when the binding starts. 0 (default) keeps all, as before.
  • Safety rule: a local backup is only deleted if it is in Google Drive or older than the newest backup in Google Drive. A backup that could not be uploaded yet (for example while the internet is down) is never deleted.

Update from 0.2.0

  1. Delete org.openhab.binding.googledrive-0.2.0.jar from the addons folder.
  2. Copy org.openhab.binding.googledrive-0.3.0.jar (below) into the addons folder.
  3. Things, items and the Google login are kept. The new setting appears in the Backup Upload thing.

Google Drive Binding 0.2.0

@github-actions github-actions released this 25 Oct 23:31

Backup upload. Requires openHAB 5.0 or later.

New

  • backup thing uploads new backups from userdata/backup automatically, as soon as the archive is completely written
  • Resumable upload in 8 MB chunks; continues after network errors, failed uploads are retried twice (5 minutes apart)
  • Checksum check: the uploaded file is verified, files already in Google Drive are not uploaded twice
  • Old backups beyond "Backups to Keep" are moved to the trash or deleted
  • Target folder is created by the binding; paths like openHAB/Backups create nested folders; the folder may be renamed or moved in Drive
  • Channels: status, progress, last upload, last file, last size, backups in Drive, last error, upload events
  • Rule actions: uploadLatest(), uploadFile(fileName), cleanup()

Update from 0.1.0

  1. Delete org.openhab.binding.googledrive-0.1.0.jar from the addons folder.
  2. Copy org.openhab.binding.googledrive-0.2.0.jar (below) into the addons folder.
  3. Things, items and the Google login are kept.

Test

  • Switch the Upload Now channel on to upload the newest existing backup, or
  • create a new backup, e.g. docker exec <container> /openhab/runtime/bin/backup.
