Version 8.0.0 – A major theme‑token cleanup, palette alignment with Tailwind, and the addition of a reusable CodeEditor component.

  • Theme token overhaul

    • Removed inert tokens: btnBackground, btnBackgroundHover, btnBackgroundActive, btnBorder, btnForeground, sidebar, sidebarForeground, sidebarPrimary, sidebarPrimaryForeground, sidebarAccent, sidebarAccentForeground, sidebarBorder, sidebarRing, chart1–chart5.
    • Tokens that never affected components are now gone; their underlying --sidebar-*/--chart-* CSS custom properties remain available for plain‑CSS overrides.
    • Buttons now use colorPrimary/colorDestructive for semantic colors, or override --preset-color in CSS for preset hues (e.g., [data-slot='button'][data-color='blue'] { --preset-color: oklch(55% 0.2 250); }).
    • Fixed fontSans and fontMono: they now write --ui-font-sans/--ui-font-mono, ensuring overrides work with Next.js next/font scoped variables.

  • Palette alignment

    • Shared preset color palette is now a single source of truth and matches Tailwind names (fuchsia, indigo, amber, etc.).
    • Deprecated aliases (magenta, geekblue, gold, volcano) still work but will be removed in the next major; volcano renders orange‑600.
    • Presets now reference Tailwind v4 theme variables, causing a slight ΔE shift (0.017–0.036) and slightly more saturated P3 rendering.

  • CodeEditor component

    • Added CodeEditor (CodeMirror 6 surface) at its own subpath (@jbpark/ui-kit/CodeEditor).
    • Supports JS/TS highlighting, line wrapping, VSCode theme pair, Cmd/Ctrl+S write‑back, and unified diff view.
    • Optional peer dependency; not re‑exported from the root barrel to avoid breaking consumers that never use it.

  • Migration

    • Removing the tokens had no runtime effect; it only clears type errors. No other migration steps are required.
