BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING, READ THIS FIRST.

Do not flash new firmware until you've verified that the electronics are all working.

That means, finish building the headphones, plug them in, use the stock firmware for about five minutes. Verify that everything is working.

Once you've verified that it all works, you're good to go flashing new firmware.

There's a video build guide available on YouTube!

Check it out here!

u/d4v3thund3r released this wonderful build guide for the Headphones. He goes into a lot of detail, showing a few nifty tricks for putting everything together successfully. It'll give you a great overview of the build process, so go and check it out!

IMPORTANT: MANY STEPS IN THIS ASSEMBLY PROCESS ARE CRITICAL.

Read every step completely and carefully before you actually do it. There are often important notes that accompany each step. Study photos in detail.

To remind you of this, critical steps will have a title like this: (!) Step 14: Do This Step Carefully. These steps must be completed correctly the first time, without mistakes.

Critical details will be emphasised with a (!).

Instructions Sections

enter image description here The instructions will be broken up into several sections:

Note that some of these pictures were taken at different times, so they may show a bit of inconsistency in between steps.

Step 1: Get the necessary tools

  • Soldering iron
  • Solder
  • Tweezers
  • Glue stick
  • Scissors
  • A #1 Phillips head screwdriver (or similar; you're looking for a small-ish screwdriver here)

Celebrate for completing the Introduction!

  • You did it! You get a tiny trophy.
  • This section was easy, because it only had one step. The next section will be much longer.

When you're ready, continue to Part 2: Drivers.
