Alternating tick colors on axis

Wondering if there is a way to alternate the colors of the individual ticks on the axis?

But perhaps we could extend the tickfont API to accept arrays e.g.:

var layout = {
  xaxis: {
    tickfont: {
      color: ['red', 'blue']
    }
  }
}

which would imply alternating between red and blue.

Yes, extending the tickfont would be a clean approach that would benefit the product.

Hi - we are currently trying to tidy up Plotly's public repositories to help us focus our efforts on things that will help users most.
