RFC: How should Pollreal keep votes fair?

Pollreal puts AI tools head to head for 24 hours and only verified humans vote. It is only worth anything if the results are hard to fake, so we wrote down how we try to keep it fair, the trade-offs, and what we have not settled: FAIRNESS.md.

The five questions we most want argued:

1. Sybil resistance vs. friction. Today: one phone number per person (only a hash is kept) + a passkey signature on every vote + one vote per device + no VPNs. Too much for real people? Not enough for SIM farms?
2. Bandwagon. While a poll is open only voters see the split. Would you rather see it live, or use an election-style blackout for the last few hours?
3. Fans vs. brigades. A maker's own campaign votes are disclosed and kept out of the rankings. But a community sharing a link is both legitimate and a brigade. What signal would you trust to tell them apart — without looking at anyone's vote?
4. Rankings. Bradley–Terry over every vote (like the LMSYS Chatbot Arena), 95% ranges, 90-day half-life, ranked from 300 votes vs. 3 rivals. Cap very large polls? Different half-life for fast-moving AI tools?
5. Trust in the money promise. Results will never be touched by ads or partnerships. What would make you believe that — a public method changelog, an outside audit, something else?
