What media type should a Mapbox GL style asset have?

Status: blocking — sprint work waits on this one.

Our code currently writes application/vnd.mapbox.style+json while our docs say application/json, so we have to pick one. The vendor type is what OGC API – Styles uses, but we've seen plain JSON in the wild too. Which is idiomatic in the STAC ecosystem? We'd rather match existing practice than guess.

application/vnd.mapbox.style+json seems a litle better unless the relation type is defined in a way that it's strictly bound to mapbox GL styles anyway and no other formats are allowed in general.

+1 to the stricter one, and to just follow ogc api - styles. Easier to check / validate.

We should probably just follow OGC with media types: https://docs.ogc.org/DRAFTS/20-009.html#mediatypes

Recommend Mapbox or MapLibre and then be open for others.
