Pentarnion Studio 0.2 — attribution and citation update

Choose a tag to compare

@poshtkohi poshtkohi released this 01 Nov 12:12

Pentarnion Studio remains an Apache-2.0 research preview. This release updates first-party attribution and software citation metadata.

Changes

  • Studio's About dialog now displays Copyright 2026 Alireza Poshtkohi and Susanne Pumplün.
  • The compact About footer keeps both names, the website link and Close button visible.
  • The README displays the same copyright prominently. Existing Apache and third-party notices are retained.
  • CITATION.cff identifies the exact 0.2.0-preview.2 release, both creators and all three algebra preprints.

The scientific implementations and native numerical libraries have not been changed by this attribution update. Three focused offscreen About tests and 18 isolated install/uninstall checks passed. All 33,159 installed payload file hashes matched; the 425 other executable/library files retain their previous identities. Desktop graphics stress tests were not run.

Source and downloads

The source snapshot is commit 84ce69fa5d02765ead22686e9a87231cd7fb0aa5.

Use the installer attached to this release for the updated Windows application, or the source ZIP for CMake/Code::Blocks builds. Verify the attached files against SHA256SUMS.txt and read VALIDATION.json for this package's bounded checks.

The unchanged third-party source/relink companion remains available from preview.1. These materials are also retained inside the installer. Dependencies retain their own licences.

Status

  • The Windows installer remains unsigned; no SignPath Foundation approval is claimed.
  • Windows 10 compatibility has been reported by the project author. This is separate from a clean-VM acceptance run.
  • Current full Linux GUI release validation and a validated macOS binary are not claimed.
  • The mathematical research is described in the three linked preprints. Numerical demonstrations do not constitute general accuracy guarantees or proofs of chaos.

Zenodo's GitHub integration archived this release automatically. Cite the version-specific software archive for this release. The project DOI covering all versions links to the current archived version. Both creators, the release tag and Apache-2.0 licence have been verified in the published record.

Pentarnion Studio 0.2 — open-source research preview

Choose a tag to compare

@poshtkohi poshtkohi released this 31 Oct 22:11

Pentarnion Studio's first public open-source research preview is available under Apache-2.0.

The source includes the complete scientific implementation, Qt desktop, language and native callback generators, numerical/export runtimes, examples, specifications, dependency locks, CMake/Code::Blocks build entry points and editable packaging sources. Third-party licences remain separate.

The repository cites all three algebra preprints in its README, research-papers page, BibTeX and CITATION.cff:

Build and validation

See the build guide and tested platforms. Local preparation passed the three existing algebra suites, 48,733 native bridge parity checks, pinned Boost.Serialization linkage and full headless CMake configuration. Source-safety, licence-helper and public-packaging boundary tests accompany the code. A configure-only result is not a full target build.

Hosted CI for the tagged source passed the Ubuntu algebra build/tests and Windows PowerShell checks, plus public-source, export-notice and packaging-boundary checks. Full Windows/Linux GUI build jobs remain manual and were not run by these checks.

The Windows package transparently repackages the previously validated numerical host/SDK/toolchain, with new Apache notices, complete public source, examples and offline HTML/Markdown guides. Its numerical executable bytes are preserved; the new installer and metadata receive new hashes and targeted acceptance. The old private-reference DOCX/PDF manuals are excluded. Consult the attached validation receipt for this exact package.

Downloads and licences

Use the Windows x64 installer for the standalone application. No global MSYS2/Python installation is required for running it or compiling supported user callbacks. Full developer builds have additional prerequisites described in the build guide.

Pentarnion-Studio-Source.zip is the audited source snapshot for this release. The installer also contains complete source and matching third-party source/relink materials. A separate Pentarnion-Studio-Third-Party-Sources.zip provides those source, build and relinking materials without requiring Windows installation. Verify downloads against SHA256SUMS.txt and consult VALIDATION.json for the exact package checks. Retain the supplied licence notices when redistributing binaries or runtime helpers.

Existing GUI exports do not automatically attach the new runtime licence companions. Use the included penta-export-with-notices.cmd or tools/export-with-notices.py before redistributing generated runtime bundles. User-authored models do not automatically become Apache-licensed.

Research-preview limitations

  • Unsigned installer. SignPath Foundation has not approved or signed this project. Checksums identify files; they do not authenticate a Windows publisher.
  • The tested standalone platform is Windows 11 x64. Windows 10 VM validation and current full Linux GUI validation remain pending. No macOS binary is supplied.
  • GUI desktop stress tests were intentionally excluded. Historical numerical acceptance is identified separately from this package's targeted checks.
  • The supplied TIFF build disables JBIG; other recorded codecs and ABI are retained. Developer system libraries may have different dependency closures.
  • Native callbacks compiled locally remain subject to operating-system application-control policies. A future signed installer would not automatically sign user-generated DLLs.

This is a research preview. Solver convergence and successful demonstrations do not establish general numerical accuracy, a new theorem or model identifiability.
