Is it time to re-attempt reference translations?

I hate to bring it up and I know @REAS has put a ton of work into this in the past, but with the PDE getting localized, is it time try again with translating the reference?

This is a great idea, and it seems it would be hugely valuable to the international, non-English speaking community. Yet I'd love to hear more about the history of this effort, as I see major challenges in keeping documents that are updated so frequently in sync across multiple languages. (Tracking versions of translations, and tying them to specific releases of the software seems important.)

I am sure other projects have evolved good solutions to these challenges, but I would need to learn about them,

I can tell you about how our system first succeeded and then later failed as I cry into my cup... it's my hope that the last decade has yielded better tools, practices to learn from.

My # 1 goto system for anything multilingual on the net (still) is Drupal, which i use for the contribution system as well.

Hello! I would like to help working on the Spanish translation for the references.
I guess that I'll be forking this repo and working on that, but there's something I should keep in mind while doing this in order to ease others work?

Hello and thank you! I didn't know this older translations Issue was still open. The situation is different now and we're currently working on a Spanish translation that will hopefully lead to future translations. I'm going to post this link here: https://github.com/processing/processing-website/blob/main/docs/README.md and will close the issue. @ejsandoval is leading this work.
