shadlet 0.4.0 is out! this release adds new runtime capabilities and rounds out development, accessibility, deployment, and browser testing workflows.

highlights

• more capable data tables: controlled row selection, loading and error states, retry support, per-column filters, column visibility, keyboard/accessibility improvements, and cancellation of superseded async server queries.
• extension authoring tools: shadlet extension create scaffolds a Python/React extension package, and shadlet extension check validates its manifest and bundled assets.
• deployment examples: a multi-stage non-root Docker image, Render Blueprint, and /healthz endpoint.
• accessibility and browser coverage: axe-core checks and Playwright coverage for key runtime, extension, URL state, and server-side query flows.
• runtime and reliability: PORT support with validated precedence, safer transactional extension discovery, and improved Pydantic error reporting.
• benchmarks: opt-in workloads for tables, rendering/protocol serialization, and concurrent sessions.

• 145 Python tests passed; Ruff, mypy, and Pyright passed.
• 27 renderer tests and 3 Playwright tests passed; renderer typecheck, lint, formatting, and production build passed.
• strict documentation build and release packaging checks passed.
• release CI passed, including the Docker deployment example build. The wheel and source distribution are attached to the GitHub release and published on PyPI.
