shadlet 0.7.0 is a focused performance and verification release. it keeps protocol v2 and does not claim complete parity with the current shadcn/ui catalogue.

what changed

• chart, calendar/date picker, and carousel adapters now load with react.lazy behind a suspense boundary. apps that do not use them no longer load recharts, react-day-picker, date-fns, or embla-carousel on first paint.
• the main renderer entry chunk fell from 1,590.49 kB to 1,060.3 kB minified (483.47 kB to 327.9 kB gzip). check:bundle now enforces entry, total, and required-lazy-chunk budgets in ci.
• added a generated component compatibility matrix: all 56 pinned upstream components have a python type and renderer adapter, with 0 missing and 24 shadlet-only components. fidelity remains partial where upstream props, events, keyboard behavior, or accessibility semantics are not fully mapped.
• added ui.DirectionProvider, declarative ui.Toast on the sonner runtime, and shadlet.layout.ScrollArea coverage, plus lazy and feedback adapter regression tests.
• versions are aligned at 0.7.0 across python, renderer, protocol fixtures, templates, and docs; the wire protocol remains version 2.

compatibility and scope

• existing 0.6.x apps should remain source-compatible; see the 0.6-to-0.7 migration guide.
• sessions, background tasks, uploads, and extensions retain their documented process-local and trust boundaries.

verification

• local python suite: pytest -q — 214 passed; ruff, format, mypy, and pyright passed.
• renderer: eslint, prettier, typescript, 41 vitest tests, production build, and bundle budget passed.
• browser: 12 playwright tests passed across chromium, firefox, and webkit.
• github ci for the release commit passed: python 3.11–3.14, renderer, browser e2e, packaging, and deployment examples.
• strict documentation build, compatibility matrix check, and clean python 3.11 wheel installation passed.
• the github release includes the wheel and source distribution; pypi publish completed.
