PDD Alpha 0.1.7: screens you can try by default, calmer agents, and plain refusals.

Start a new agent chat after the update, so it loads the new skills.

What is new

  • Screens you can try. For a page or a game, the agent also writes the app map (RUNBOOK §13). pdd try shows the real screen, and keys and taps work. A page with no mockup gets a render operation, so it gets a runtime test too.
  • The right RUNBOOK part at the right time. Before it writes tests, the agent reads the AI-call budget (§10) and the patterns (§18): one call for a whole list, never 30 calls in a row. A Try page allows 40 AI calls for each tap.
  • Calmer agents. A helper agent gets its full brief at once, then one long wait. The agent asks you before an optional step and waits for your answer. Links are full URLs.
  • pdd check.
    • It waits until every check ends, with a progress line every 30 s. An agent gets an answer after 90 s and reads the rest with pdd check --read.
    • With one Story, it prints one Runtime check line.
    • A failed value keeps its line breaks, and no line is cut.
    • A refusal shows the server's plain reason, place and fix, when the server sends them.
  • pdd try. When the server refuses to start a Try, for example because of a bad app map, pdd says what was refused and how to fix it.
  • pdd approve shows the prompt text that you approve: the changes since the last approved version.
  • Runs.
    • ~ in CODEX_HOME and CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR works, and a folder that does not exist is refused at once.
    • status notices a chat that stopped, and says "waiting for you" only after the question is there.
    • pdd workflow changes N "I approve" tells you to run pdd workflow approve N.
    • At the code question, pdd commits a prompt that you approved with pdd approve, pushes it to PR 1, and then starts the code area.
    • Bug PR 1 starts with the verdict and "Before ✗ → after ✓". PR 2 shows its tables first.
  • pdd setup says when your installed skills differ from this pdd's skills.
  • Docs. The install steps name $CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR and -a codex -a claude-code. The old examples/ticket-status folder is removed.

Checks

  • Full suite on pdd-vm: 327/327.
  • A user-style install prints 0.1.7. A real pdd check on runtime.promptdriven.ai passed: ✓ 5 of 5 criteria, 12 AI calls.
