This PR is the beginning of a new landing page and a few cleanup items. It includes

  • improved landing with blocks of visual content that the eye can scan - the larger content pages will come later
  • minor cleanup of blog post yaml and contributing page content
Most of these blog changes are to allow me to highlight blog posts and packages without having to do a huge overhaul of the code.

this allows us to highlight a blog post on the home page. Most recent isn't always ideal because for isntance one recent post is - we are at agu... that's just not relevant.

this allows us to highlight packages that we want on the home page while we are figuring out how to collect additional info.
