Description
Project to be claimed
fluxy
: https://pypi.org/project/fluxy/
Your PyPI username
lionel42
: https://pypi.org/user/lionel42/
Reasons for the request
We want to publish our project on pypi, but it seems that another project already has the same name.
The project seems to be abandoned
- owner not reachable
- We tried to contact the owner, but we do not find any contact email or account
- No email provided in source code or on the pypi page of the current owner (https://pypi.org/user/kamilov2005/)
- No repository found when searching on google
- Maybe someone from pypi could get the email from the account and reach the owner ?
- no releases within the past twelve months
- Last realease from 2023 (https://pypi.org/project/fluxy/#history) and only one day where all release occured
- no activity from the owner on the project’s home page (or no home page listed)
- No home page found or any link, from neither pypi or google search
Representing the authors, I think we meet all the criterion (once you try to reach the owner through the email registered on pypi)
- the project has been determined abandoned by the rules described above;
- As above
- the candidate is able to demonstrate their own failed attempts to contact the existing owner;
- As Above, owner is not reachable
- the candidate is able to demonstrate that the project suggested to reuse the name already exists and meets notability requirements;
- Currently the new fluxy project is under joint development between various collaborators, not sure what are the
notability requirements
exactly, but the project is cleary being used and active
- Currently the new fluxy project is under joint development between various collaborators, not sure what are the
- the candidate is able to demonstrate why a fork under a different name is not an acceptable workaround;
- Changing the name of the project at this stage would require massive changes, so we stay fluxy
- We though of uploading the package under a longer name (like fluxy-plots or fluxy-inversion or similar), but it seems like a non optimal solution and could create confusions for future users (when running
pip install
for example )
- download statistics on the Package Index for the existing package indicate project is not being used; and
- From this https://pypistats.org/packages/fluxy is seems the number of download is quite small ( I am not an expert, but I would say no major users)
- the maintainers of the Package Index don’t have any additional reservations.
- We are happy to answer any questions
Maintenance or replacement?
