command to stop everything

While debugging it's pretty annoying to stop everything and get a clean slate to try again. I think it would help if we have some kind of "reset" command to shut everything down and get the project into a clean state.

Yup. We need spring status and spring stop [env] commands. I'd also like to set the process name so we can see which process is which, i.e. what application it's running, and what env. E.g.

spring server [/path/to/my/app]
spring application [/path/to/my/app] development
spring application [/path/to/my/app] test

A default command (like spring killall or something) would be very helpful.

Currently, I am using the following right now to kill any spring processes:

ps ax | grep spring | cut -f1 -d' ' | xargs kill

Yep, this will definitely be implemented. Remember that closing your terminal will also kill the processes.

Also you can do cat tmp/spring/*.pid | xargs kill as an alternative.

Go for it! I'd like it to be called spring stop rather than killall. You can get the server's pidfile from env.pidfile_path, so you just need to read the pid and send a SIGTERM. (And deal with edge cases like the pidfile isn't there, or is invalid, etc.)
