DK64 Rekongpiled 1.0.3
Note
Wondering about your save data when upgrading? Don't worry! Your save data is stored separately to the game itself. You can overwrite your old version and your save data will still be there, completely intact, and will work on the new version.
Changelog
- Removed B Locker from extended draw distances, fixing a bug with being able to shoot the coconut switch in Hideout Helm lobby on higher draw distances
- Fixed a minor bug with sprite interpolation fixes where the matrix tag index of the sprite would overflow into unintended bounds
- Separated out options for gyro & mouse inversion. As such, you can now independently control which of these are inverted ( #73 )( #79 )
- This now also impacts the controls of the cannon game in Gloomy Galleon
- Changed how the reduced lightning setting works ( #63 )( #89 )
- Instead of reducing how intense a lightning strike is, instead it now reduces how frequently the flashes take place
- This should remedy any remaining issues with this setting. As always though, there's about 500 different ways that DK64 can produce a lightning flash, so if we missed one, please let us know via a GitHub issue
- Fixed a bug where the player is visible during some segments of intro story with extended draw distance ( #72 )
- Fixed a bug where some sprites, most notably balloons (only when you're the correct kong for that balloon) would not get draw distance extended
- Disabled analog camera controls in maze minigames ( #90 )
- Fixed a bug where the gold tower in Gloomy galleon would show sparkles past the intended range
- This was shown via drawn distance increases, but actually was a vanilla bug where these particles don't get z-indexed in the vanilla game
- Fixed a bug where some objects would disappear in Aztec during the sandstorm at high draw distances
Changed functions that were in 1.0.2

Changelog
New features & non-bug fix changes

- Made the first person inversion option apply to Gyro & mouse controls
- Added in the ability to boot recomp via a CLI argument ( #55 )
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where a large spike in CPU load would permanently kill the audio engine until a program restart.
- Fixed an issue where disabled lightning would not work for some lightning events ( #30 )
- Fixed an issue where the game would leave zipper marks on the game during the open zipper animation
- Fixed an issue where the main menu scrolling background would look very weird on expanded HUD ( #42 )
- Fixed an issue where numbers on the pause screen would sometimes not be shifted if their number was horizontally too wide ( #31 )
- Fixed an issue where swimming control would not follow the inversion option if the kong was stationary ( #58 )
- Fixed interpolation issues for the following screen elements:
- Helm Timer
- Pause menu first screen options ( #46 )
- Descriptions of the DPad buttons have been updated in the recompui menu (Thanks to @zdodson21 )
Modding API
- Added various modding events:
- recomp_on_map_load
- recomp_on_eeprom_load
- recomp_on_asset_file_load_override
- Fixed a bug where
recomp_on_new_file_startwould not be a useable modding event
