The backlog is the issue tracker. Open issues labeled enhancement are what is deliberately not built yet.

This page used to list that by hand. It listed three things, and by the time anyone checked, all three had shipped:

• Rotated x-axis tick labels for long category names — shipped as XAxisLabelRotation, and AUTO is the default (#214).
• Per-series name and legend within render_layers() — shipped as Plot.series_name() (#215).
• Bar and arc layering — a bar-plus-line combo shipped (#137). What remains of it is #773: several bar layers, grouped and stacked bars, and concentric arcs.

A hand-maintained list of what is missing goes stale in exactly the way that is hardest to notice, because nothing reads it and being wrong costs nothing until someone trusts it. An issue closes when the work lands, which is the property this page never had (#760).
