@github-actions github-actions released this 13 Oct 06:33

Docksmith is a native macOS GUI for browsing apps, selecting multiple removable apps, and editing supported Home Screen layouts. The companion CLI remains available for read-only Configurator probes.

This prerelease adds paired-device status, separate USB and backend diagnostics, app-name search, a removable-app filter, bulk selection, and an explicit Connect Using Xcode action for an existing paired network device.

Apple Configurator provides Home Screen access. Optional Xcode provides app inventory and supported app removal when its device backend is available.

Wi-Fi app inventory reads have been exercised with USB disconnected. Wireless access is intermittent, and the post-connection refresh in this release can return an unavailable inventory. Home Screen access has been verified over USB; wireless Home Screen changes and actual wireless app removal remain unverified.

Choose the .app.zip matching your Mac: arm64 for Apple Silicon or x86_64 for Intel. macOS 14 or later is required. The app bundles include the MIT license; SHA256SUMS covers all four archives. These binaries are unsigned and not notarized.

First native macOS preview of Docksmith, licensed under MIT. Requires macOS 14 or later. Apple Configurator provides Home Screen access; optional Xcode provides app inventory and supported removal.

  • Named devices with USB, network and paired-offline status.
  • App search, removable filtering, bulk selection and a frozen removal review.
  • Complete Xcode app inventories when Configurator returns a partial list, with the inventory source and removal target pinned separately.
  • A Dock, page and folder draft editor with baseline checks and a private backup before applying.

The release pipeline tested and packaged Apple Silicon and Intel builds and published SHA-256 checksums. Live app and Home Screen reads were checked over USB. Xcode app reads also succeeded with USB disconnected; Configurator Home Screen access did not recover wirelessly in that test.

This preview is unsigned and not notarized. Widgets are outside the layout editor. Live deletion and layout changes were not performed during validation, and the final GUI click-through remains unverified.
