Retarget3MF 0.1.2

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 30 Oct 16:48

What's new

  • Easier updates. Settings → About checks for updates when you open it. On Windows and Linux, Restart to update installs the new version. On macOS, where unsigned apps can't replace themselves, Download opens the new installer, and the app shows a notification when a new version is out.

Downloads

macOS (Apple silicon and Intel) Retarget3MF-0.1.2-universal.dmg
Windows Retarget3MF-Setup-0.1.2.exe
Linux Retarget3MF-0.1.2.AppImage or Retarget3MF_0.1.2_amd64.deb (Debian, Ubuntu)

The other files are used by the app's automatic updates; you don't need them.

Known issues

  • The apps are not code-signed yet. On macOS, the first launch is blocked: right-click the app and choose Open, or allow it in System Settings → Privacy & Security. Windows SmartScreen shows a warning; choose More info → Run anyway.
  • On macOS, install this version by hand once (download the .dmg and replace the app); from then on the app points you to each new version.

@github-actions github-actions released this 30 Oct 16:10

What's new

  • Works without the extension. Turn on Settings → Browser → Catch "Open in slicer" buttons on model sites, and the site's own "Open in Bambu Studio", "Open in PrusaSlicer", "Open in Creality Print" and "Open in Snapmaker Orca" buttons come to Retarget3MF. It asks whether to convert the project for your printer or pass it on to that slicer. Off by default; turning it off gives the buttons back to the slicers.
  • Browser extension in the stores. Settings → Browser links to Firefox Add-ons and the Chrome Web Store (in review).
  • Store version of the Chrome extension can talk to the desktop app.

Downloads

macOS (Apple silicon and Intel) Retarget3MF-0.1.1-universal.dmg
Windows Retarget3MF-Setup-0.1.1.exe
Linux Retarget3MF-0.1.1.AppImage or Retarget3MF_0.1.1_amd64.deb (Debian, Ubuntu)

  • The Linux AppImage can't catch the sites' "Open in slicer" buttons; use the .deb for that.

Retarget3MF 0.1.0

@github-actions github-actions released this 30 Oct 15:00

First release of Retarget3MF: open a 3MF project made for someone else's printer, converted for yours.

What it does

  • Converts Bambu Studio (MakerWorld), PrusaSlicer 2.x (Printables), Creality Print (Creality Cloud), Snapmaker Orca (Snapmaker Space), OrcaSlicer and Anycubic Slicer Next projects for 39 printers from Bambu Lab, Prusa, Creality, Flashforge, Elegoo, Anycubic, Qidi and Sovol.
  • Picks the right printer and filament profiles, fits colours to your filament slots or toolheads (merging them when there are more colours than slots), places objects on your bed and keeps the author's settings where they make sense. Every change is listed in a report.
  • Opens the result in your slicer: Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer, PrusaSlicer, Creality Print, Flash Studio, QIDI Studio or ElegooSlicer.
  • Everything runs on your computer. No account, no analytics, nothing uploaded.

Downloads

macOS (Apple silicon and Intel) Retarget3MF-0.1.0-universal.dmg
Windows Retarget3MF-Setup-0.1.0.exe
Linux Retarget3MF-0.1.0.AppImage or Retarget3MF_0.1.0_amd64.deb (Debian, Ubuntu)
Browser extension Chrome Web Store (in review), Firefox Add-ons soon

No install? The web app converts in your browser: https://app.retarget3mf.app/

Browser extension

Adds Open for <your printer> to the download menu on MakerWorld, Printables, Creality Cloud and Snapmaker Space. With the desktop app it converts and opens your slicer in one click; without it, it converts in the browser and gives you the file.

Known issues

  • The apps are not code-signed yet. On macOS, the first launch is blocked: right-click the app and choose Open, or allow it in System Settings → Privacy & Security. Windows SmartScreen shows a warning; choose More info → Run anyway.
  • PrusaSlicer 3.0 projects are not supported yet.
