Bugs

If you find bugs in any of the installers or tools:

  1. Check the /opt/retronas/logs directory for a log file. Not all installers have logs, however anything that requires compiling source code or building complex tools should have something. Information may exist in there as to what went wrong.

  2. Check application specific logs. Typically Linux puts these in /var/log , and either in a specific file for that service, or generically in system log files like messages or syslog (plain text files you can copy and open in a text editor). Often directories below that for specific things (e.g.: Samba puts logs in /var/log/samba inside individual files).

  3. Submit an issue:

Please ensure you offer as much information as possible - what you were installing, copy/paste of any error information on screen or log files from steps (1) and (2), and what hardware/software combination you are using. There's no such thing as "too much information" when trying to track down errors in computing.
