• Sofascreen, the screensaver: your wallpapers full screen as Android's screensaver, with or without Projectivy: transitions, slow zoom, clock, date, brightness and weather. It uses the same lists and look as the wallpapers, or its own. Set it up in Settings → Screensaver; on Google TV it's switched on once with adb, and Sofadrop shows the steps.
• Open the title from the wallpaper: Projectivy's ▶ icon opens the title on your streaming platforms (Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, HBO Max, Apple TV…) in the order you choose. If it's on none of them: its trailer on YouTube, Nuvio, Stremio or Jellyfin.
• Guided setup: the first time, a few questions (style, lists, amount) with a live preview. Open it again from About.
• Export and import settings (About): set up another TV the same way with a file. Accounts and keys aren't in it: after importing, Sofadrop says which ones to connect again.
• Japanese, Korean and Chinese: wallpapers in Japanese, Korean and Chinese (simplified, Taiwan and Hong Kong).
• Text position: put the wallpaper's text in any corner.
• Black shading: for OLED screens.
• Cast photos: each actor's photo next to their name.
• Trakt lists: any user's public lists, and your account's own lists.
• Simkl recommendations: your recommended movies, shows and anime (Simkl PRO or VIP).
• New filters: minimum TMDB rating, an age of 10 years or "from a year on", and blocked titles (▼ in View wallpapers).
• Check for updates (About → Version), and see what's new before installing.
• Dutch: the settings in Dutch.

Improvements

• Projectivy backups no longer include your API keys or account connections.
• Lists make up for duplicates and come up short less often. An update makes at most 200 wallpapers, shared among the lists.
• 4K uses less memory and falls back to 1080p when it can't, with clear errors and a log of the last update (About).
• The list source in the footer is larger and easier to read, and streaming logos are tidier.
• "Titles in another alphabet in English" now means an alphabet other than the wallpaper's language.

Thanks to schumi2004 for the first version of Sofascreen, the Dutch translation, the new filters, the backup fix, the list selection and the update check, and to ilee, whose Sofadrop Screensaver was the first screensaver for Sofadrop.

• Ratings with logos: IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes (critics and audience), Metacritic, Letterboxd, TMDB, Trakt and MyAnimeList, each with the platform's logo. IMDb, TMDB and Trakt need no account; the others come from MDBList.
• Header (Wallpaper details): choose the order of the line under the title (ratings, watched badge, year and age rating, runtime or seasons, genres), hide any part, and pick which ratings to show and in what order. When the line doesn't fit, extra ratings and genres make room.
• Age rating of your streaming country next to the year.
• Style (Wallpaper details): complete, logo only, or backdrop only.
• Language of each part (Wallpaper details): the logo and the synopsis can each use their own language (or the title's original one), with their own fallback when TMDB has nothing in it.

• New filters: maximum age (7, 12 or 16), and genres to skip or to use only (thanks, schumi2004!). Each list can have its own.
• Accounts: one screen to connect TMDB, Trakt, Simkl and MDBList (with a QR code) and to update the IMDb ratings data.
• Preview title: choose which title the settings preview shows, from your wallpapers or by TMDB id.

Improvements

• Faster: a set of 20 wallpapers takes about 25% less time to generate, and the preview redraws faster too, with the same images.
• The preview keeps the same title while you change settings.
• Without a synopsis, the cast and the footer no longer leave a gap.
• The main screen says Projectivy can take up to 15 minutes to show new wallpapers.

• The update row says how to continue if Google Play Protect blocks the install (More details → Install anyway), and offers the update again after a cancelled or blocked install.

Fixes

• The Chromecast with Google TV could restart its interface (and Projectivy lose its accessibility permission) when leaving Sofadrop's settings with Back. That came from an Android 14 bug when an app's task is sent to the background mid-transition; Sofadrop now closes its settings instead, staying out of that path.
• Titles per list and streaming country now mark their current value when opened.

• In-app updates: when a newer release is published here, Update available appears at the top of the settings; choose it to download and install it (the first time, Android asks you to allow Sofadrop to install apps).

To update from 1.0.0, install sofadrop-1.0.1.apk over it (your settings are kept). From now on, Sofadrop will offer future versions itself.

First release of Sofadrop, a wallpaper plugin for Projectivy Launcher that generates movie and TV backdrops directly on your Android TV.

Install

1. Download sofadrop-1.0.0.apk below and install it on your TV (e.g. with Downloader, Send Files to TV or adb install).
2. In Projectivy go to Settings → Appearance → Wallpaper → Launcher wallpaper and pick 🔌 Sofadrop.
3. Open Configure to choose lists and tune everything with a live preview. The first set is generated right away.

Highlights

• Lists from TMDB (no account needed), Trakt, Simkl and MDBList (public lists without an account); accounts connect by scanning a QR code.
• Full-bleed textless backdrops with the title logo, rating, year, genres, synopsis and the streaming services or the list each title came from.
• Default filters for every list (maximum age, global hits only, adult content, repeated titles) and per-list overrides, with a list explorer that shows which titles are used or skipped and why.
• Watch history from Trakt or Simkl: mark watched titles with a badge or hide them.
• Choose what happens when the logo or synopsis isn't available in your language: fallback, leave it out, or skip the title.
• Lists mixed in the launcher or one after another; updates every 6 h to 7 days.
• English and Spanish (titles, synopses and labels in more languages).

Requires Android 8.0+ and Projectivy Launcher with plugin support.
