1.2.0
What's Changed
1.2.0
This release adds 10 flags, corrects the colors and layout of many existing ones, and makes the package easier to import. Several flags look different from 1.1.0, so check any you depend on.
New flags
- polyamorous-new: the 2022 polyamory flag. It was listed in the README but had no styles, so it rendered blank. This closes #5, since sapphic already existed.
- doe
- pocket-gender
- gay-uk: the Union Jack layout, drawn at 2:1.
- bxy
- gxrl
- nxnbinary
- gendercreative
- littlefluid
- lipstick-lesbian
Corrected flags
Colors and layouts were checked against prideflags.org and Wikimedia Commons.
- pangender: now 7 mirrored stripes. It had 8, ending in pink.
- demigender: the silver stripes were missing.
- genderflux: wrong colors, now corrected.
- gilbert-baker and pride-1978: now end in indigo and violet instead of blue and indigo.
- demisexual and demiromantic: the triangle and stripe proportions are fixed, and the purple and green match the reference.
- intersex: the ring is the correct size.
- labrys: the background is the correct purple.
- androgyne: stripes now run horizontally. This one is from memory and still unverified.
- bear-brotherhood: now has the paw print.
- Exact hex colors: the rainbow flags (traditional, philadelphia and the progress family) and about 20 others used CSS color names or approximations and now use exact hex values. The rainbow flags in particular look slightly different, so compare them side by side.
- progress rainbow: it deliberately uses prideflags.org's rainbow (#ee2824…), which differs from traditional (#e40303…).
- aromantic: now matches aromantic-spectrum, which was already correct.
- Colors from the reference sheets: agender, bigender, nonbinary, transgender and several others were adjusted to match.
FLAGS.md lists the source for every flag and which ones are still unverified.
Packaging
- New main, style and exports fields, so import "@risadams/pride-flags" works in bundlers.
- src/pride-flags.scss is now included in the package.
- Source maps are removed, so the minified file is smaller (23.6 KB).
Accessibility
- The icon examples now have role="img" and an aria-label, and the README shows both.
Internal
- A stripes() Sass function replaces hand-written stripe percentages. $rainbow is defined once.
- polyamory and polyamorous-new scale with the flag, so the .flag.icon.polyamory and .flag.icon.small.polyamory overrides are gone.
- Added a CI workflow that fails if dist/ is out of date, plus AGENTS.md and FLAGS.md.
Known issues
Several flags are unverified, and a few look wrong:
- asexual-spectrum
- unlabeled
- sapphic
- queer
FLAGS.md has details.
