Keyboard Shortcuts for navigating interface #56
Comments
If it's navigating the previews, then wouldn't up/down be a bit better? then it would seem like you're going through the list of results on the left. |
I thought about it. It was actually my first intuition too. But that conflicts with scrolling, which can be a problem from both the user point of view and the implementation one. |
Tab? |
and Shift-Tab for previous one? |
There might be accessibility issues? I'll think about it. Usually tab is used by people who want to jump between elements. I might be able to hook into the browser's tab handling anyway... |
Yes, keyboard shortcuts can be a mined field, especially with webapps... But a few of them would still be useful. |
Seems to be done (Tab and Shift Tag), which is perfect imo. What I miss: Possibility to use arrows (up and down) to select a "proposed" person in the drop-down list. F. e. when entering "Bach," I have to use the mouse or pad to select "Bach, Wilhelm Freidemann" on 5th position. |
Oh no. Wrong issue. I thought about navigating the search interface (not the result interface). |
No, I think this issue will cover adding all keyboard shortcuts, so no need to open a new issue. |
Partially implements rism-digital/rism-online-issues#56
It would be handy to have an easy way to navigate (going to the next / previous) previews easily. My first choice would be a keyboard shortcut (right / left arrow). Alternatively, we could have a button somewhere so you do not need to move the mouse each time you want to see the next one
