0.4.2 — simpler setup and managed updates

Choose a tag to compare

@rnaefe rnaefe released this 17 Oct 11:06

Wrapper now configures Codex by default. Run the package without arguments for setup; update recognizes the managed configuration, preserves its data directory, port and environment settings, and stops only an authenticated idle worker. uninstall removes the selected client entry with a backup while preserving other servers and local user data.

Sign-in is skipped when already connected, and concurrent connect calls join the existing flow. Browser windows close after sign-in and after each task. Upstream image input boundaries, binary MCP images, code-output validation and terminal-task retention are included. No CI workflow is included.

Install

Update

npx -y @rnaefe/chatgpt-wrapper@0.4.2 update

Restart the MCP client after setup or update. Custom clients/config paths can be selected with --client and --config.

Validation

  • Formatting, build, type checks and 76 tests passed on macOS.
  • Clean tarball installation, default Codex config merge, seven-tool MCP handshake, idle-worker update and config-only uninstall passed in an isolated environment.
  • Two live visible MCP coding probes completed in 10,036 ms and 11,032 ms; a repeated connect call skipped reopening sign-in.
  • Failure recovery uses controlled fixtures; no live provider outage or deliberately expired user session was simulated.
  • Headless remains experimental and previously encountered browser verification. Windows/Linux acceptance and extended-session uptime are unverified.
