Administration Data import export Import
Navigation: Administration > Data import/export: Import No contents entries on this page Contents The SAP DTW must always be used for importing SAP master data. The beas Import function may be used only for beas data.
beas needs a definition of the data target and the data source. The data target may be a permanently defined specification or it may be defined as desired. The data source consists of a query (select instruction) to a SQL-capable data source, connected through ODBC, or of any text file. In turn, the individual fields can be mapped freely and directly between target and source, or they can be mapped through formulas, formats, etc. A data target can either be newly entered or synchronized or only synchronized.
The import program should only be used if the user is very familiar with the table structure of beas and SAP Business One. The database can be destroyed if handled incorrectly, to the point where it becomes unusable.
Import process
- Define the data target and assign a unique number to the data target
- Enter a designation
- Determine the import type, usually insert+update
- Maximum number of records to be read. Empty=All
- Determine ODBC/DSN data source, enter through DETAIL, if applicable
- Determine data source (e.g. source database)
- Use FIELDS to map the source fields to the target fields
- Import the source database with IMPORT
