Is it possible to enable the old colored icons for complexity? #292
|
I found the old green/yellow/red complexity icons much better at quickly conveying the complexity than the new inlay hints + yellow squiggles. With the old icons, I found it much easier to quickly understand which parts of the code impacted the complexity the most. The inlay hints get visually lost in the code, especially with the yellow squiggles that are applied to the entire function that's over complexity. Thanks! |

Not in the current extension, unfortunately. The colored decorations were removed in VS Code extension 0.3.0 (2026-10-18). Its changelog says: "Complexity is shown as inlay hints instead of colored decorations". The extension is now a client of What you can do: 1. Go back to the old extension. In VS Code's Extensions view, open complexipy → ⚙ → Install Specific Version… → choose 0.2.0, and turn off auto-update for it. That gives you the green/yellow/red icons again (you lose the live updates of 0.3.0). 2. Tune the new LSP output to be closer to what you liked. It reads [tool.complexipy.lsp]
per-line-hints = true # show the "+N" contribution per line — the closest thing to the old per-line icons
inlay-hints = "always" # function total on every function, not just above the threshold ("threshold" | "always" | "never")
diagnostics = false # removes the whole-function yellow squiggle
If you'd like colors back as an option, it's worth opening a feature request. LSP inlay hints can't be colored per value, but the extension could add decorations on top. |
