https://doc.sagemath.org/html/en/reference/repl/startup.html This document tells you where the startup shell files are, and what they do. The issue is this document and nowhere in the sagemath docs tell you what to do if those files don't exist. The answer which is not easy to find is to create the files(https://ask.sagemath.org/question/33393/how-can-i-alter-default-local-sage-configuration/), so can this be in the document rather then spend 30min+ searching for the answer?
