Test UI build 22 Oct, redesign: Home
Pre-release
Pre-release
Test build of the test-ui branch, for trying new motion, interaction and glass. Not for everyday use.
It installs over Leftovers Dev and keeps all of its data, permissions, keys and connections; it shows as Leftovers UI test with a violet icon. To go back, install the normal Dev build again: nothing is lost either way.
What's different
- Home is redesigned: today's number sits large on the background, and the balance shares one card with this month's spending and income. Sections spring into place
- Swipe between Home, Activity, Insights and Plan: the tabs move with your finger, and a quick flick changes tab
- The background light drifts a little as you swipe, so the cards seem to float above it
- Liquid glass on Android 13 and newer for the controls: the tab bar, round and secondary buttons, chips, the segmented switches and the keypad bend what's behind them at their edges, with a bright rim. Content cards stay calm frosted glass. Settings → Liquid glass turns it off, and Glass effects turns all glass off
- Lists and pages bounce at their ends, like iOS: pull past the top or bottom and they spring back
- Pop-up cards and the Add, Edit and Recap sheets arrive with a small springy overshoot; buttons spring back when let go, and the chosen tab's icon pops
- Cards catch a rim of light along the top edge, have a fine frosted grain, and light up under your finger; the big card sits on a soft shadow
- Crisper glass and clearer small text in the light theme
- Pull the Add, Edit and Recap screens down to close them
- Buttons and cards react the moment you touch them, and settle without a wobble
- A short vibration when an entry is saved, a switch is flipped, or money owed is paid back
- The small totals (Spent this month, Income, Daily average) roll to their new value
- Content fades out under the tab bar, and the tab bar steps aside while a pop-up card is open
- The Insights chart: one very big day no longer flattens the other bars
- The weekday and weekend comparison uses a typical day, so one big bill doesn't skew it
