The first release of Livi Pen, an open-source vector illustration app built in pure Rust. It runs natively on Windows, macOS, Linux and FreeBSD, and in the browser via WebAssembly. Agents can drive it over MCP, the CLI and a JSON control channel.

Livi Pen is in alpha: the core workflows (drawing and path editing, Pathfinder, paint and appearance, type, layers and artboards, SVG/PDF/EPS, print and export) work end to end, but expect rough edges. See the roadmap for what's next.

What's new in this release

  • Livi Pen's own name, app icon and blue colour scheme (Coral is still available under Preferences › User Interface › Accent Color).
  • Help links go to liviverse.com and this repository.
  • Opens VectorCraft (.vectorcraft) and DrawCraft (.drawcraft) files.

Installing: unsigned builds

These builds are not code-signed yet, so your system will warn before the first launch:

  • Windows: SmartScreen says "Windows protected your PC". Click More info, then Run anyway.
  • macOS: the app is not notarized. Open the DMG, drag Livi Pen to Applications and try to open it; then go to System Settings › Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway next to the Livi Pen message.
  • Linux, FreeBSD, web: no warning; check the files against SHA256SUMS.txt if you like.
