When opening this dataset via bioformats (using pims), and opening it via this python lib both result in int16 dtype. I'm not an expert with the dm3 format, so this should maybe be double-checked with other tools.

@jstriebel Thanks! You're right. I don't know whether DM3 files actually allow negative values, and I don't know of any EM modality that would return negative measurements, but the fact that Bio-Formats lists it as int16 is enough to justify this change.
