Add scope note to time interval

It may be worth clarifying that, while an event which is not past can have a planned but not an actual end date, an interval has an actual end date even though it is not past. Otherwise it would be a different time interval. E.g., I can't say the interval 9am-11am tomorrow is planned to end at 11am, but then when it happened it actually ended at 10. It also provides a good contrast to an event, which doesn't have an actual end date until it has happened. But maybe so obvious that it doesn't need saying.

What you are saying is interesting and probably true, but it's a bit subtle, and hard to parse and understand. If this cannot be majorly simplified, there is a risk that it will cause more confusion than clarity. Even if it is very clear, it's not clear how much it will help people. A general principle I use, is:

• if the reader is reasonably likely to make a mistaken assumption, then it can help to put in a clarifying comment to avoid the mistake. Otherwise, skip it.

I speak from experience I often think of oddball cases, spend too much time finding words to describe them, then I realize it's more likely to confuse than clarify.
