@shauncreates shauncreates released this 28 Oct 14:04

AfterCraft preview 2 adds Current's native graph editor and libraries, improves AEP effect/parameter translation, and extends native OFX GPU hosting.

Download the Windows Setup executable below. Run it to install or update the separate AfterCraft application. Normal EffectCraft uses its own installation. Current standalone has its own repository and download: https://github.com/shauncreates/Current/releases/tag/v1.0.0-preview.2

Highlights:

  • Current: Bezier, standard easing, Spring, Elastic and Bounce; multiple named lists; one-list .current import/export; .flow Bezier interchange with skipped-curve reporting.
  • AEP translation: Sapphire parameter/unit mappings, Adobe-only plugin parameter IDs, and built-in effect mappings including Wiggle Position controls.
  • OFX OpenGL hosting and metadata enrichment, including temporal/layer input work; improved Adobe host suites and clearer unsupported cases.
  • Original purple AfterCraft branding.

Validation: cargo xtask ci passed (formatting, linting, native workspace tests, layers/assets, 32-crate Wasm check); converter and native helper suites passed; packaged app/CLI startup and Current graph library smoke checks passed. Prior local Sapphire GPU probes rendered 47 cases on GTX 1650; this is not universal plugin compatibility certification.

Known limitations: proprietary custom effect data, unsupported host suites and some expanded-output SmartFX effects remain unsupported. Deep Glow expanded output and complete AEP visual parity are not claimed. License activation remains vendor-controlled. Actual After Effects execution of standalone Current remains unverified. Use copies of valuable projects when testing this preview.

AfterCraft 0.16.0 Preview 1

An independent experimental fork of EffectCraft 0.16.0 with Windows native-plugin hosting and partial After Effects project import.

  • Separate AfterCraft installer, Start menu/desktop launcher, application identity and per-user settings. Installs alongside normal EffectCraft.
  • Generic discovery/installation for OFX and supported Windows Adobe effects, with an Adobe/OFX preference and edition filtering in Effects & Presets.
  • Partial .aep/.aepx import, explicit Sapphire edition mappings, editable supported keyframes/easing, preserved original source and unsupported-data reports.
  • Bounded plugin preview scheduling, smaller default caches, limited idle helpers and optimized native-helper builds.
  • App-private Python runtime and dependency notices included.

The Windows preview is unsigned. Commercial plugins and licenses are not included. Project mapping does not convert plugin binaries or transfer activation. Discovery alone does not establish render compatibility with every effect. Native GPU suites, advanced plugin services, CEP extensions and full AE/3D fidelity remain incomplete.

Download the Windows x64 Setup executable and verify its SHA-256 against SHA256SUMS.txt. Source and build instructions are in the repository.

Validation: full cargo xtask ci passed (3,684 tests; 32-crate WASM check), native helper and adapter fixtures passed, and installed Sapphire OFX Glow and TimeWarpRGB smoke tests passed at multiple preview sizes. Includes a Windows socket-write cancellation fix and refreshed plugin menu translations. The installer excludes generated Python bytecode caches.
