Release list
Eliza Access 1.0.1
Eliza Access 1.0.1
Run ElizaAccessInstaller.exe (or the one you already have) to install or update. Close the game first. The full guide, with every key, is in the README on the GitHub page, and also comes in the download as ElizaAccess-README.html and ElizaAccess-README.md.
Changes since 1.0.0
- Pressing Up or Down past the first or last option in a choice now reads the option again, instead of going silent. A single choice is read again on each press.
- Moving the mouse or touchpad no longer clears the selected choice or swallows an arrow press, so the next Down no longer jumps back to the first option.
- In counselling sessions, the number of choices is always announced before the option, including after returning from the pause menu.
Eliza Access 1.0.0
Eliza Access 1.0.0
Run ElizaAccessInstaller.exe (or the one you already have) to install or update. Close the game first. The full guide, with every key, is in the README on the GitHub page, and also comes in the download as ElizaAccess-README.html and ElizaAccess-README.md.
Changes since 0.9.2
- Everything the mod reads now also goes to your braille display, if your screen reader has one connected.
- The mod settings menu works on a controller: Back (View) opens and closes it, A turns a setting on or off, B goes back.
- The mod tells you on the title screen when a newer version is available, right after "Scene loading." You can turn this off in the settings: "Announce available updates at launch".
- The README has been rewritten for players: installing, every key and controller button in one table, settings and troubleshooting.
Eliza Access 0.9.2
Eliza Access 0.9.2
Run ElizaAccessInstaller.exe (or the one you already have) to update. Close the game first.
Changes
- New setting at the top of the F5 mod settings menu: Read voiced dialogue aloud (off by default). When on, lines that have voice acting are also read by your screen reader and shown in braille, including the lines Evelyn says after you pick a reply. Useful for braille users and for playing in a language other than English.
- J and L (or the right stick) now read the full description straight after the name and position. Press any key to cut it short; K still reads the description again on its own.
Eliza Access 0.9.1
Eliza Access 0.9.1
Run ElizaAccessInstaller.exe (or the one you already have) to update. Close the game first.
Changes
- Scene and character descriptions now work on a controller: push the right stick left or right to step through the images on screen, and up to read the full description (the same as J, L and K).
- Controller directions are more reliable. Quick repeated flicks of a stick no longer get lost or cut off their own speech, and a direction counts as released once the stick returns near the centre. This applies everywhere the mod uses the controller: look-around, profile badges, Solitaire, History and line-by-line reading.
Eliza Access 0.9.0
Eliza Access 0.9.0
First release with an installer. Download ElizaAccessInstaller.exe, run it, and it finds your Steam copy of Eliza and installs the mod. Run it again later to update or uninstall. Close the game before installing.
If the installer won't start and mentions VCRUNTIME140.dll, install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (x64) from Microsoft and try again.
To install by hand instead, extract ElizaAccess.zip into the game folder (the one containing Eliza.exe).
Upgrading from a manual install
Earlier versions were installed by replacing the game's libvorbisfile.dll. This version doesn't touch any game files. Before running the installer, open Steam, right-click Eliza, choose Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files. That puts the original libvorbisfile.dll back. You can delete the leftover libvorbisfile_orig.dll afterwards.
Your mod settings carry over automatically. They and the logs now live in %LOCALAPPDATA%\ElizaAccess instead of Documents.
New in this version
- Scene and character descriptions: J and L step through the background and the characters on screen (or a conversation's avatars), K reads the full description. Location changes and characters arriving or leaving are announced.
- Emails, Skandha messages and text conversations can be read line by line with Up and Down; Home and End jump to the start and end. Home and End also work in chapter select.
- Controller support for look-around, the Eliza profile badges, Solitaire and History.
- The chapter title is announced at each new chapter.
- Dialogue reads speakers by first name only, and a silent "…" line is read as "ellipsis".
- The star rating after Evelyn's own Eliza session is now read in the right direction.
