What's new

• A hidden orb costs zero CPU. Behind the screen edge the orb kept redrawing its light every frame and the edge glow kept breathing, which added up to about 30% CPU while Runie just waited. The hidden orb is now removed from rendering entirely, the edge glow is static, and nothing is drawn while the screen is asleep or locked. Measured: 0% while hidden.

What's new

• Keyboard shortcuts. Double-tap Option opens and closes the chat from any app. Control-Option-S opens the chat with a screenshot attached, Control-Option-N starts a new conversation. All of them can be re-recorded or turned off in Settings → General → Keyboard shortcuts. Double Option needs Accessibility access.
• The orb follows you across displays. With several displays, the orb moves to the one you are working on: a docked orb slides behind the edge and out on the other display, a free one shrinks to a point and spreads out again. There is a toggle in Settings.
• One-click screenshot. The first item of the + menu attaches the whole screen right away, with no selection or pasting. Runie's own windows are left out of the shot.
• The input grows with long, multi-line messages, up to five lines.
• Reply actions under the message. Copy and Ask again now sit under each reply and are always visible.
• Settings show the real app version instead of 0.0.1.

• Snap sound. A short magnetic click when you drop the orb on the screen edge and it snaps into place.
• No more border above the chat. When a conversation had earlier messages, a sliver of the previous reply peeked above the collapsed chat, cut by a straight line. The top edge now fades out.

Runie 0.3.2

What's new

• Runie says hello and goodbye. On launch the chat comes out of the orb, Runie types for a moment and sends a greeting, then folds back into the orb. On quit (including Cmd+Q) it says goodbye first. Neither starts Claude Code or takes keyboard focus.
• Sound design. Eight soft glass chimes synthesized in code: chat open and close, message sent, reply ready, greeting, farewell, a question or permission request, and an error. Settings → General → Sounds has a toggle, volume and a preview. The audio engine sleeps between sounds, so it costs no CPU while idle.

What's new

• Clicks pass through the empty space above the chat. Only the chat blocks catch the mouse now; scrolling over replies still stays in Runie.
• Photos in the index work. The app was missing the photo library entitlement, so macOS denied access without even asking. Settings now also say where to grant access if it was denied.
• Much lighter orb. Idle CPU drops from ~18% to ~5%: the orb renders at 30 fps instead of the display refresh rate and freezes while hidden behind the screen edge.

• Long-term memory. Runie keeps a profile, facts and a daily journal as plain Markdown in ~/Documents/Runie and recalls them in later conversations. An optional on-device model (54 MB) adds search by meaning.
• Knows your Mac. An on-device index of your files, Mail, Notes, Messages, Photos and browser history (Safari and Chrome), searched by words and by meaning. Every source is opt-in; Full Disk Access is optional.
• Spotlight, Shortcuts and Siri. "Ask Runie", "Search in Runie", "New chat" and "Open chat" actions, plus a runie:// URL scheme.
• Raycast extension in Integrations/raycast.
• Shift+Enter inserts a line break; the input field is wider.

Semantic search model

Semantic search model for Runie memory.

A static multilingual model, sentence-transformers/static-similarity-mrl-multilingual-v1 (Apache 2.0): the first 256 of 1024 dimensions with fp16 weights, which shrinks 434 MB to 54 MB with almost no loss in quality.

Runie downloads these files only if the user agrees and keeps them in ~/Library/Application Support/Runie/Model. Everything runs on the Mac itself.

Runie 0.2.0

выпуск для самообновления, скачивать его вручную не нужно.

Нужен Claude Code с подпиской Claude. Если его нет, Runie предложит установить всё сам при первом запуске.

Runie 0.1.0

Скачайте Runie-0.1.0.zip, распакуйте и перенесите Runie в «Программы».

Первый запуск. Приложение подписано локально, поэтому macOS сначала не даст его открыть.
Выполните в Терминале одну команду:

Дальше Runie обновляется сам: новые версии он ставит без Терминала.
