v0.3.3 — credential-safe git remote, complete privacy policy
Two fixes since v0.3.1: a stored git remote can no longer leak a credential into your notes, and the README's privacy policy now lists everything rutter writes. This is the version submitted to the Claude plugin directory.
Install (Claude Code)
/plugin marketplace add shinytoyrobots/rutter
/plugin install rutter@rutter
Choose your notes folder when asked, then run /reload-plugins. Already installed? Run /plugin marketplace update rutter, update the plugin, and restart Claude Code. Requires Node 22 or newer.
Changes since v0.3.1
- A credential in your git remote is no longer copied into your notes (0.3.2). Each session record stores the git remote URL of the working directory. A remote written as
https://<token>@host/org/repowould have put that token into a markdown file that may be synced or committed. Any user-info part, query string or fragment is now removed before the URL is stored. Ordinary remotes, includinggit@host:org/repo.git, are unchanged. Records already written are append-only and are not edited. - The privacy policy now lists everything rutter writes (0.3.3). It said three kinds of file and put stance lines in the session records. rutter writes five: session records, position records, the note-identity ledger, the usage log, and the search index. It also said rutter "runs no other programs", which left out the capture hook; it now states exactly what runs. No behavior change.
- No binary-looking source file (0.3.3).
src/identity.tsheld a literal NUL byte as a key separator, so git and grep treated the whole file as binary. It is now the escape\u0000, which behaves identically.
Still true from v0.3.1
- The index builds and refreshes itself, so a fresh install searches immediately.
- Server instructions fit Claude Code's 2,048-character limit, so the style contract and the position-line instruction reach the client.
- Grok loads the plugin from your Claude Code install and falls back to the default notes folder. Codex cannot use the plugin and needs a few extra steps; see Getting started.
rutter runs entirely on your machine; see the Privacy Policy section of the README. This is a personal tool shared as a reference implementation, not a supported product. Full list: CHANGELOG. v0.3.2 was never tagged; its change is included here.
