📦 App Requests — request an app for the catalog

[shukiv]

Want an app added to Jabali's catalog — a Docker app or a one-click PHP app? This is the place.

Please post every app request as a comment on this discussion (not as a new issue). Keeping them all in one thread gives us a single list to triage and prioritise, and lets others 👍 the apps they also want.

When you request an app, include

• App name + link to its homepage / source repo
• Type — Docker app, or PHP / one-click app
• Official image (Docker apps) — the registry image, e.g. dpage/pgadmin4 or ghcr.io/…
• Why you want it / what you'd use it for
• Any specifics — needs a database? persistent storage? outbound SMTP? admin-only vs. tenant-installable?

How requests are handled

• We triage from this thread. 👍 reactions help us prioritise the most-wanted apps.
• When an app ships, we'll reply here with the PR / release that adds it.

Already available

Before requesting, check what's already in the catalog under install/docker-apps/ in the repo — no need to request those.

Thanks for helping shape the catalog! 🙏

Nextcloud one Click PHP App

[shukiv]

@johnnyq Nextcloud is now in the catalog as a one-click PHP app (#2127). It ships in the November 1 release.

How it works:

• Install it from Applications at the root of any domain or subdomain you own, for example cloud.example.com. It runs on that domain's PHP-FPM pool with a MariaDB database, like the other PHP apps, under the same hardening.
• It needs PHP 8.3, 8.4 or 8.5 on that domain. On an older version the install stops with a message before downloading anything. Switch the domain's PHP version and install again.
• The files people store live in nextcloud-data, beside the docroot, so the web server never serves them.
• Background jobs run from a Nextcloud Cron job every 5 minutes. You can see it on the Cron page.
• The Files app, the desktop and mobile sync clients, and calendar/contact sync use WebDAV methods that the web application firewall blocks. Each Nextcloud install gets a managed exclusion for that one rule (CRS 911100), on its own domain and its WebDAV paths only. Admins see it under Security → CrowdSec → WAF exclusions.
• Uploads up to 512 MB go through in one request. The sync clients upload bigger files in parts.
• Nextcloud answers on the domain it was installed on, not on www. + that domain.
• Deleting the app removes its code, its database, the cron job, the firewall exclusion, and the nextcloud-data folder with every file stored in it.
