v5.2.1 - Fixes For The Mac, Skills And Sign-In
v5.2.1 - Fixes For The Mac, Skills And Sign-In
A fix release, mostly for the Mac. On a Mac installed from the DMG, documents,
Row-Bot's browser, Computer Use and Skills now work as they do on Windows and
Linux. Row-Bot 5.2.0 updates to 5.2.1 in the background.
Mac
- Documents process on a Mac - processing never started on macOS (since
5.0). It does now, from Settings › Documents and from a chat. - Browser Automation and design exports - installing Row-Bot's browser works
with the current Playwright build, so design exports to PNG, PDF and
PowerPoint work on a Mac too. - Computer Use installs - Cua Driver installs on macOS, on slower
connections too, and then asks for the macOS permissions it needs. - Skills - Settings › Skills lists your skills, and adding a featured skill
opens it, on a Mac installed from the DMG. - Background processes - Developer background processes, such as a dev
server, need Windows, Linux or a Docker workspace; on a Mac, Row-Bot now says
so and suggests running the command in the conversation.
Everywhere
- A locked keychain - when the system keychain is locked or unavailable,
connecting ChatGPT or xAI says so and how to unlock it, instead of reading
"Connected", and never blocks connecting the other one. - Downloads that fail say so - a browser, Cua Driver, voice or search model
download that fails says what failed and what to do next, instead of
"Row-Bot couldn't confirm that". - Files on this computer - the app asks which folder it may use, and starts
with it. - Updates - after Check now, the page's header shows the new check time.
- Running times - a step that ran for 6 minutes 59.6 seconds reads 7m, not
6m 60s.
Upgrade Notes
- From 5.2.0 - Row-Bot downloads 5.2.1 in the background; restart when it
says Restart to update. - From 5.1 or 5.0 - read the 5.2.0 notes below: the move to 5.2 needs the
full installer once. - Files on this computer - if you added it in 5.2.0, remove it and add it
again to choose its folder.
Known Issues
- Windows Firewall may ask again after an update - with phone or LAN access
on, Windows can ask once more after each update. Allow it; a later release
keeps one fixed path. - The first time on a Mac - when Row-Bot first works in your Documents
folder, macOS asks for permission, and the command waits until you answer. - Maths in replies - formulas show as plain text, sometimes with LaTeX
marks such as \( and \).
