Upflow2x 0.3.0
Released as Eternal2x, the plugin's name before it became Upflow2x. In this version the panel, the Scripts menu entry and the downloads still say Eternal2x.
Smooth 2x for hand-drawn animation.
Animation drawn on 2s or 3s repeats each drawing, so neighbouring frames are
identical and there is nothing for a frame interpolator to work with. This
release recovers the real drawings first, then rebuilds the shot with optical
flow at the original length and frame rate.
New
- Analyse reports how a clip is animated without changing anything.
- Smooth Clip rebuilds it, applies Resolve Super Scale, and adds the result to
the timeline. - Both run in the background with progress, so Resolve stays responsive.
- Output can be a lossless image sequence, an MP4, or a lossless AVI.
- Quality, hold pattern, output format and upscale settings persist.
Fixed
- Sequence, Regroup and Upscale relied on Resolve APIs that do not exist. They
reported success while changing nothing, and have been replaced. - Every button failed with ModuleNotFoundError after a normal install, because
the launcher loaded the UI from a different folder than the config. - Auto-update never ran. update/latest.json carried a UTF-8 BOM, JSON parsing
rejected it, and the error was swallowed as "Update check skipped". - Super Scale was set to "2x", which Resolve rejects. The accepted value is "2".
Requires
DaVinci Resolve Studio 18 or newer, and Python 3.8 or newer. Super Scale and
Optical Flow are Studio features, so the free edition is detected and reported
rather than silently skipped.
Install
Extract, then run the installer app, or from the extracted folder:
pip install numpy opencv-python
python Installer/install_eternal2x.py
Restart Resolve and open Workspace > Scripts > Eternal2x.
