2.41.0 (2026-10-04)

Features

  • cocoa: the text controls edit with the Mac's keys — ⌥ by word, ⌘ to the ends of the line and the value, ⌃A, ⌃E, ⌃K and ⌃Y — and ⌥ types what the layout puts on a key, so ⌥S is ß and a German keyboard has its @ (#872) (670e209)

Bug Fixes

  • cocoa: a pane draws only into a buffer the host is done with and the WindowServer has let go of, and waits for the host's answer when there is none, so a page in a <Frame> that repaints while the host is busy is not shown half drawn, where a host two presents behind had the pane draw into the frame on glass or into one the host had yet to look up (#877) (f6a062f)
  • cocoa: a pane keeps a buffer it retired until the host has looked up the present that named it, so a page resized in a <Frame> does not flash its next frame half drawn, or another tab's page, where the host found whichever surface the IOSurface id had gone to (#870) (ae956b0)
  • cocoa: the host keeps a video buffer it retired until the pane has looked up the frame that named it, so a <video> in a <Frame> whose picture changes size is not copied out of the next ring's unwritten buffer, or another process's surface, where the pane found whichever surface the IOSurface id had gone to (#875) (0312ec9)
  • deps: @windowkit/appkit ^0.25.0, so a pane that keeps up with its resizes has its last frame anchored at the top left on a Mac, where 2.40.0's range admitted no bridge that reads contentsGravity and the frame was still stretched (#868) (11a1b18)
  • frame: a pane is sent the newest rect, one at a time, once it says it has painted the last — where a drag's sizes queued behind a slow page's frames and the pane laid out and painted every one, seconds after the edge stopped (#876) (ee25403)
  • textarea: a value that ends in a line break has the empty line after it, so Return at the end puts the caret on a line of its own on every backend (#871) (2ad3090)
  • win32: the Windows text engine answers ntk's layout contract, and reaches the faces Chrome reaches by name (#874) (9886792)
