This is my proposal for new Silex logo.
Simple, bold and clean.
It is inspired by Superman logo :)

could you try to put the S logo as the first letter ? (remove the small 's' and put it beside 'ilex')

I don't now how that "s" in triangle is obvious but in that case I would need to make word ilex much bigger and than it will look strange. But I will make an example :)

you already have some great proposals there so I thought I'd just add my own proposal with four variations;
The concept is definitely "less is more" in mine. I've used the x in your product name to suggest the closing and opening of HTML mark-up tags. While this is a common treatment nowadays, the brackets are symbolic of the very idea of semantic markup. Leaving them open hints at the various possibilities of what will be created next and so it is subliminally prospective and optimistic. The typeface is a liberally licensed SIL open font license. My recommendation would be the top-right and obviously the colour is not locked in.
