research-diff keeps a map of a research project: its questions, hypotheses, experiments, results and claims, read from small markers in the files you already have (notes, experiment configs, scripts, results files, the paper). After each iteration it says what changed: a hypothesis supported or refuted, numbers that moved, new links, and warnings such as a claim that now relies on a refuted hypothesis.
It is built for exploring ideas with an AI coding agent. After every turn you see what the turn did to the research, not only to the code. You mark what you have understood, and from then on you see only what is new.
- Markers: how to write questions, hypotheses, experiments, results and claims
- Commands: map, diff, checkpoint, watch, readme
- With AI coding agents: the hook, the live page and the MCP tools
- Roadmap
The pictures, snapshots and live page come from system-diff.
