Now (0.1): map, diff, README section, hand-made pictures, PNG, the LLM summary, the GitHub workflow.
Next: people and AI coding agents working together
- A hook: after each change an AI coding agent makes, redraw the diff against the last checkpoint and say in one line what changed in the system. No tokens, and it runs every time.
-
A live page:
system-diff watchserves the current diff and redraws it as files change, to keep beside the editor (VS Code's Simple Browser works). -
Checkpoints:
system-diff checkpointmarks what the person has seen, so the next diff shows only what is new to them. -
An MCP server:
system-diff mcp(optional extra) withsystem_map,system_diff,draw(whose input schema shows the model exactly what a spec looks like) andcheckpoint, for Claude Code and other MCP clients. -
system-diff setup claude: registers the MCP server, adds the hook and a short skill in one step, says what it changed, and--undotakes it back. A Claude Code plugin later, for installing without pip.
Later: readers as plugins (other web frameworks, notebooks, CLI entry points, Hydra/YAML configs, data folders), and
a system-diff init that writes a first config from the repository's folders.
