The first full release of Neutron vs Negatron, a recomp of the 2002 PC game Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron, rebuilt from the original code to run natively on Android (made for the AYN Thor). You need your own copy of the game (the CD's .iso); the app installs from it. No game files are included.

Highlights

  • The whole story plays through, as on the PC: all 20 story levels from the logos to the ending's score screen, plus the VR bonus level. Every level's objects come from the original's code: friends, enemies and bosses, vehicles, gadgets, pickups, cut scenes, music and voices.
  • New main menu in a stainless-steel / green-LED lab style: Continue, New Game, Load Game, Saves, Settings, Asset Viewer, Quit.
  • Saves use the PC game's own files: export them to a .zip and import them back, between devices or to and from the PC.
  • Dual screen on the Thor: a live map of the level, energy, score, gadget, collectables and inventory on the bottom screen. It's on by default when a second screen is present.
  • Asset Viewer: fly freely through any level (noclip, frozen, saves untouched) or browse all of the game's 3D models.
  • HD texture packs: install a pack of higher-resolution textures from Settings (none is included).
  • Bill's UI (optional): three energy meter designs, three gadget hologram designs, framed help pictures and a livelier score. Vanilla keeps the original look.
  • 16:9 widescreen, on by default, with the HUD at the screen edges.
  • Thor pad mapping, clean suspend when you switch apps or close the lid, casting that shows the game on the TV while the panel stays on the Thor.

Installing

  • Download JimmyNeutronVsJimmyNegatronRecompV1.apk below and install it.
  • Coming from an older test build? This release is signed with a new permanent key, so uninstall the old build once. Export your saves first (Settings → Saves), then import them after installing. Future updates install over the top.
